Athletics

Central to our philosophy of educating the whole child, we  offer scholars a series of extracurricular sports programs that enrich their experiences at Sojourner Truth Academy.   The purpose of athletics at Sojourner Truth Academy is to develop scholar athletes that embody the pillars of the school while also fostering a sense of community and pride in the school itself.  Student-athletes are held to a higher standard for behavior, academic performance and leadership.

Press Conference

On September 16, 2010, Sojourner Truth Academy was awarded a $100,000 grant by the NFL and ten New Orleans Saints players (Drew Brees, Leigh Torrence, Jonathan Goodwin, Chris Reis, Zach Streif, Malcolm Jenkins, Tracy Porter, Jabari Greer, Chase Daniel, and Roman Harper) to start a football team during the 2010-11 school year.
